Anthony Julius Naro


Anthony Juluis Naro is a professor at UFRJ. He did his post doctorade at Chicagos' University - UC - Chicago - United States. He has PhD in Linguistics at Massachusetts Institute of Tecnology in 1968, and he did his post doctorate in Mathematics at Polytechnic University of New York.

Anthony Julius Naro speaks English, French, Spanish and German. He won three awards in 2001, 2004and 2008. His professional address is UFRJ, Department of Linguistics and Philology.

He traveled for study in Coimbra, Lisboa, Luanda, and Melanje. And he works a visitor professor at Universities af Chicago, Pensylvania, Rom, California ( Los Angeles) and Cornell.

Nowadays he works with: Portuguese Grammar. Then, as he didn't anwer our e-mail, we don't have much information about him, and we finished our classwork here.

Roman Osipovich Jackbson



Roman Osipovich Jakobson nasceu em 11 de outubro de 1896 em Moscou, mudou-se para Praga em 1920 onde foi fundador do Círculo de Praga em 1926.
Jakobson foi um pensador
russo que se tornou um dos maiores lingüistas do século XX e pioneiro da análise estrutural da linguagem, poesia e arte. Foi chamado de "o poeta da lingüística" por Haroldo de Campos.
Sua vida foi baseada no conhecimento, deu aulas em Nova York e desde 1949 conduziu uma cadeira na Universidade de Harvard, além de ser professor funcionário do Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) desde 1957. Presidente da Sociedade Americana Lingüística, em 1956, recebeu o prêmio internacional em lingüística Ele fez contribuições no campo da aquisição fonológica em crianças.
Seu principais trabalhos foram: Linguagem infantil e afasia (1941), Fundamentals of Language (1956). Também é autor de numerosos artigos sobre diversos temas .
Jakobson faleceu no dia 18 de julho de 1982.

Roman Osipovich Jackbson

Roman Osipovich Jackobson was born on 11 October in 1.896 in Moscow and moved to Prague in 1.920 where he founded the Prague Circle in 1.926.
Jackobson was a Russian philosopher who became one the most important linguists of the XX century, pioneering the structural analysis of language, poetry and Arts.
He was called "the poet of Linguistics" by Horoldo de Campos.
His life was based on knowledge. Roman taught in New York and since 1.949 he taught subjects at Harward, besides being a teacher at Massachusetts Institute of Tecnology (MIT) since 1.957.
He was president of the American Society of Language. His work was linked with structural phonology with the distinctive theory. This theory deals with distinctive features. He made great contributions for phonology acquisitions in children.
His main works are Linguagem infantile e afasia (1.941), Fundamentals of Language (1.956). He is author of more articles about many subjects.
He died on 18 July 1.982.

HALLIDAY


Michael Alexander Kirkwoode Halliday was born in England. He eived three years in China, Where he studied about Lwo Changpei University of Pequin and about wang Li in University Longnan, after he come back and di doctorate in Linguistics in cambidge. He taught chinese during many years, he changed his dominion of specialization in Linguistics, grammar and systemic functional development, elaborated about the bases established by his British professor Jr. Firtth and a group of European linguistics of the beginning of the 20 century of the University of Progue. In 1965 he became o Linguistics professor at the University of London. Halliday went to Australia where he became a Linguistcs professor at the University of Sydiney in 1976 and where he stayed until we retired. He founded the semiotic social field. He worked with different fields of language study, he won a prize of emeritus professor of Sydiney University and Macquarie University in 1987, and nouadays he is a professor at Hong Kong University. In 1990, he became a pioneer of speech analysis with his talk "News Signification Forms: the Aplicated Linguistics Challenge". Old in Aila Conference in Salónica.
